Peter Tennekes

Vergabe- und Ausschreibungsrecht

Peter Tennekes is a partner who works from the Utrecht office. Peter runs a civil law practice and heads the Real Estate & Construction practice group.

Within his practice, Peter is particularly active in the following areas of law: construction and procurement law, liability law, contract law, real estate law (especially rentals and purchases), international law and litigation.

For the first few years of his working career, Peter was a lawyer in Utrecht. At the end of 2008, he made the switch to business. His thinking behind this was to return to the legal profession at some point, where the experience gained in the business world would make him even better placed to assist companies as a lawyer. This makes him a stand-out lawyer within the legal profession. He knows better than most how things work inside a company. This means that he is good at communicating with business people, knows how companies operate when they are the opponent and is good at helping the judge to understand why a company makes certain choices. The latter is an important skill, as judges are often interested in precisely that aspect during hearings.

Peter has worked as a corporate lawyer at Ballast Nedam and as Head of Legal Affairs & Contract Management at Imtech Traffic & Infra (now Dynniq). After the investment company Egeria bought the healthy Imtech Traffic & Infra division from Royal Imtech's trustee, they asked Peter to set up that Legal Affairs & Contract Management department. Peter joined Van Diepen Van der Kroef after this assignment was over. Because of his success, Peter became a partner rather quickly.

Peter is married with a daughter and a son. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his children and does a lot of spinning and bicycle racing. Peter also likes watching football, so he can often be found at the football ground and on the sideline watching his footballer son, and he enjoys listening to podcasts and music.
